The Emergence of a New Psychoanalytic Institute in Upstate New York

The Upstate Psychoanalytic Society & Institute (UPSI) is in the process of 501(c)(3) incorporation in New York State. As a budding psychoanalytic home in the Finger Lakes region nestled in Canandaigua, NY (a great meeting point amidst Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Ithaca), UPSI will support local initiatives such as seminar presentations, beginning with our inaugural seminar on May 2, 2026, from 12–3 pm with Dr. Joseph Fernando of TPS&I, as well as international collaborations such as the North Atlantic Psychoanalytic Nursing Alliance (NAPNA).
