International Psychoanalytic Nurses Alliance

The International Psychoanalytic Nurses Alliance (IPNA) is an emerging nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization co-founded in Feb. 2026 by a collective of psychoanalytically informed nursing professionals across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It was created in response to the need for a professional home where the psychoanalytic dimensions of nursing care can be studied, supported, and developed.

In a healthcare system increasingly shaped by speed, standardization, and productivity, IPNA affirms that nursing remains fundamentally human work. IPNA exists to build community, promote education, support nursing research, strengthen scholarship, and internationally advance psychoanalytic thinking in nursing. Please reach out to Dr. Brooke A.
